Zoo Day!

Zoo Day!

Nothing fancy here today. I spent the whole day with my wife’s family, and here I am at 11:00 pm trying to crank out a blog post. So here’s just a little bit of what we did today.

After we ate breakfast, we loaded up and headed to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, which was surprisingly nice. They had a lot of exhibits with lovely paved walkways running throughout, and little placards at each exhibit to tell you a bit of information about the animals. My daughter Abigail enjoyed seeing the large alligator they had, named Chuckie, who was seriously huge, although at the end of the day she told me her favorite animals were the sheep because they went baa. Most of the big cats they had were sleeping and not very active when we were there, but one tiger was up walking around, and I thought that was pretty cool. My wife bought a ticket for the zoo’s lemur encounter. It was funny to watch them play and jump around and all over her. We learned some cool facts about lemurs while Abigail and I watched Amanda play with those little furry primates. It was a fun time, and I could tell that Abigail had a blast. I look forward to more outings like this trip with her when she gets older.
